Renewing and Cancelling a Licence

Renewing a dealer's licence

Dealer's licences have a fixed validity period and must be renewed before expiry. Operating without a current dealer's licence is a regulatory non-compliance and may result in enforcement action.

HSA typically issues renewal reminders before a licence expires. Renewal applications are submitted through SHARE:

hsa.gov.sg/medical-devices/dealers-licence/renew

The renewal process involves confirming that:

  • The QMS remains appropriate and current;
  • Any required surveillance audits have been completed;
  • All licence details are still accurate.

Renewal applications should be submitted well in advance of the expiry date to allow HSA sufficient processing time without a gap in licensing.

Cancelling a dealer's licence

If a company ceases to deal in medical devices in Singapore, or ceases the specific regulated activities covered by a licence, it should apply to cancel the licence through SHARE:

hsa.gov.sg/medical-devices/dealers-licence/renew

Before cancellation, ensure all post-market obligations (adverse event reporting, outstanding FSCAs) are resolved and that devices already in the supply chain are properly managed.
